P & C Labs is pleased to announce
we are improving our HR-HPV testing! With increased sensitivity and
specificity, the Hologic Panther is the industry standard. Hologic’s Panther
platform is built on mRNA-based HPV testing. All HR-HPV testing will be automatically
reflexed to genotyping.
HR-HPV testing will now be reported
as:
HR-HPV POOL: Positive/Negative
HPV 16: Positive/Negative
HPV 18/45: Positive/Negative
The Aptima HPV 16, 18/45 Genotype
Assay: HPV types 16, 18 and 45 are associated with up to 94% of HPV-related
cervical adenocarcinomas.
The Aptima mRNA HPV assay’s targeted
approach identifies HR-HPV infections that are both present and active,
reducing the need for unnecessary patient call backs and overtreatment. Aptima
HPV targets E6/E7 mRNA expression, which is indicative of the HPV infections
most likely to lead to disease.
Testing will be done directly from
